All About Us and Our Beginning

In 1985, Dr. Carroll Thompson passed away leaving his wife, Barbara, a school teacher, the job of raising five young boys. The Thompson Family originated in Tulsa, Oklahoma. David, the oldest son, served in the U.S. Air Force and is now flying commercially for UPS. Horace, the second oldest, played outside linebacker for the University of Georgia. He finished his studies at Georgia State University and has made Atlanta his home. Carroll, the third oldest; moved from California to Atlanta with the intention of carrying out the family dream of opening Thompson Brothers BBQ. Joseph, the second to the youngest, graduated from the University of Oklahoma in May of 2003. After graduation, he relocated to Atlanta to assist his brothers in starting the family business. He will receive his Masters in Human Resources in August 2006. And finally Nathan, the youngest, currently resides in California, where he recently graduated from the University of California, Riverside, majoring in Business Finance. Vince Miller, a childhood friend, played a key role in the design and construction of Thompson Brothers BBQ.

The initial idea for starting Thompson BBQ came from David. Horace suggested Atlanta as the location. Carroll carried out the plan and is the ever-present member whose constant attention to detail results in customer satisfaction. Corey brought valuable management skills, culinary experience and the unforgettable down-home recipes. Carroll and Corey control all day-to-day operations
